Most of the younger viewers of this web site (and some of the older hands as well) will find this to be an interesting diversion.  This is a place where you can try out a couple of different interactive programs that will allow you to simulate taking control of the Mars Rovers.

The first program on this page is fairly simple.  The second one is more complex.  So far, it is the next best thing to actually being there.  Someday, being there will be an option as well.

You Can Drive The Mars Rovers

Want to take a test drive with either or both of the Mars Rovers? They're waiting for you. Tap on to the link we offer you here and you can do some very special simulated exploration for yourself.

The link is as follows:

Here is your second (and more complex) interactive offering --

We are proud to be able to offer this very special opportunity on our Space Science web site.

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory has released "Maestro" to us --- a public version of the primary software tool used by NASA scientists to design goals for the Mars Exploration Rovers and analyze the images received from Mars. Now, you are being invited to download "Maestro" for free and use it to follow along with the Rovers’ progress during the mission.

You can use "Maestro" to view pictures from Mars in 2D and 3D and create your own Rover activity plans. Also, during the mission, updates are being released for "Maestro," (which you can download) containing the very latest images from Mars.

You can join in the adventure, with this unprecedented opportunity to explore another planet. You can be a part of this exciting experience.
